"The company Sistema Produtor São Lourenço S.A. (SPSL S.A.) is a special purpose entity, established in 2013, with the purpose of developing the public-private partnership (PPP) for the provision of operation and maintenance services for the dehydration, drying, and final disposal of sludge system and maintenance of the São Lourenço Producer System, as well as for the execution of the works of this venture, belonging to the Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo – SABESP.
In May 2018, the shares of SPSL S.A. were acquired by the Chinese group China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC), through its subsidiary CGGC Construtora do Brasil Ltda., representing a significant milestone for the group and its first investment in Brazil.
CGGC, founded in 1970, is a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Co. Ltd., and operates in project, construction, investment, and operation of ventures in various construction segments, including water supply, sanitation, environmental protection, hydroelectric power, thermal power, wind power, nuclear power, energy transmission, industrial facilities, railways, highways, bridges, ports, and airports, among others. A transnational operation company with rapid growth in China, CGGC has expanded its business to more than 100 countries, ranking among the top 100 companies of the ENR Top 250 International Contractors."
